Women Leadership conference In the last decade, the African woman’s role has gone through several transformations owing to the growing recognition of her more quintessential role which transcends housekeeping and the menial chores that accompany it.
In the words of Verma Myers, feminine values are an operating system of a modern social open economy and with women leadership, we can improve not only, society but businesses as well.

The Women Leadership Institute which is the first of its kind in Nigeria was initiated by a woman whose already rich credentials is decorated with a lot of firsts.
Ambassador Kema Chikwe PhD was the first female Minister of Aviation, the first female Minister of Transportation and Ambassador to Ireland and Iceland. She has been at the forefront of women sensitization, development and empowerment as far back as the early 90’s and has over the years acquired skills and has the versatility to function in any given context.
She is a visionary who seeks and nurtures potentials in women and assist them discover and develop these potentials into leadership qualities and guides them in their quest to attain leadership positons in Nigeria.
An inaugural Conference and Exhibition for the Women Leadership Institute has been scheduled for the 28th of June, 2018 at the National Universities Commission, Abuja. The theme of the conference is TRANSFORMING AFRICA THROUGH WOMEN LEADERSHIP.
The institute is open to women in government, women in Non-Governmental Organizations, women leaders in private sector, female students and ambitious young women.
